More than two dozen organizations and colleges handed out scholarships to 43 members of the South Central Calhoun High School graduating class Sunday night.
Faith Blaskovich, there to present the Calhoun County Democratic Party Leadership Award to Maia Schossow and Chase Pibal, said she always enjoys helping select scholarship recipients.
“I love opening all of the applications and reading about the smart, talented and motivated students,” she said.
The evening began with the baccalaureate ceremony, led by Rev. Lorinda Hoover of the United Methodist Churches in Lanesboro and Glidden, Rev. Benjamin Worley of Emanuel-St. John Lutheran of Lytton. Hoover read a Bible passage in which the Apostle Paul told his readers to “continue to work out your salvation in fear and trembling.”
