Corey Trott, who was convicted in 2014 of killing a Rockwell City police officer, has filed an appeal of a judge’s ruling in his post-conviction relief attempt.
Judge William C. Ostlund denied Trott’s post-conviction appeal, which was heard in court in January, March 7. Trott’s attorney filed notice of another appeal April 3. Trott also submitted a handwritten note announcing his intention to appeal April 5.
His note contained just two lines – one instructed the court to make “a lot of copies.” The second reasserted his complaints about the nature of the arrest warrant which police served in September 2013, which resulted in the standoff in which Officer Jamie Buenting was killed.
“They are lying about the arrest warrant,” Trott wrote.
