Snow may still be on the ground and the temperature may still be below freezing, but the South Central Calhoun boys’ track and field team obtained a head start to their spring campaign.
The Titans went up against schools big and small, taking part in the A.D. Dickinson Relays, which was held on March 4 inside the UNI-Dome on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. In the boys’ meet, the Titans finished in the top 10 in three events, with two more top 25 placements.
“We ran about as well as expected for this time of the year,” said SCC track coach Bryan Case, following the meet. “Once we can get outside for practice, I think we will see drastic improvement. I believe this team has the capability of doing something special, but only time will tell.”
