Titans place second own Early Bird Tournament

South Central Calhoun went 5-1 at the 2018 SCC Early Bird Varsity Volleyball Tournament in Lake City Saturday, Sept. 1 to place second behind South Hamilton, who was 6-0 on the day. SCC posted wins over Greene County (21-10, 21-10), Belmond-Klemme (21-6, 21-8_, Audubon (21-10, 25-23), Pocahontas Area (21-15, 21-9) and IKM-Manning (21-8, 21-15) while the team’s lone defeat was to South Hamilton (21-19, 9-21, 15-12). For the tournament, SCC was led in kills by Emma McKinney with 27 while Haley Stauter had 20, Maddie Jones 15 and Heidi Hammen 14.
