Titans host 2017 South Central Calhoun Invitational

Spencer Moon of the South Central Calhoun Titans varsity boys cross country team took home first place in the varsity boys competition at the 2017 South Central Calhoun Invitational held at Lake City Country Club in Lake City Tuesday, Oct. 3. Moon finished in 17 minutes, 31.46 seconds as the individual boys champion while the Titan varsity boys team placed fourth overall with 115 points.
Woodward Academy won the varsity boys team competition with 37 points while the varsity girls team competition was won by Alta-Aurelia with 68 points as the SCC girls squad placed sixth with 138 points.
Also running for the SCC varsity boys squad were Nic Englin, who placed 23rd in 19:21.42, Jacob Stephenson (28th, 19:41.02), Chase Pibal (31st, 19:43.96), Matthew Clark (32nd, 19:45.56), Ben Englin (36th, 20:01.76) and Colin Johnson (60th, 21:32.75).
For the SCC varsity girls squad, top finisher was Lily Christian, who placed ninth in 22:06.95. Teammate Caitlin Stokes was next for finish for SCC in 23:34.65, good for 22nd place. Also competing for the SCC girls varsity squad were Lauren Ukena (28th, 24:18.24), Alayna Murley (34th, 24:41.49), Mariah Pagel (46th, 25:35.95), Mariah Hardy (48th, 25:44.92) and Meghan Dietrich (62nd, 27:20.63).
