Titan girls golfers go 1-1 at Aurelia

In the final varsity girls golf outing of the regular season for the South Central Calhoun Titans Monday, May 7 at the Aurelia Country Club in Aurelia, the Titan girls finished with a 218 to beat Southeast Valley (225), while host Alta-Aurelia (177) was 2-0 at the conference quadrangular, which also included St. Mary’s of Storm Lake, who had no team score with only three girls competing at the meet.
Top finishers for the Titans at Aurelia were Kenzie Addison and Payton Macke, who both finished with a 51. Also counting towards the team total of 218 strokes for SCC were Tiffany Poen with a 55 and Kaylynn Kruckenberg with a 61. Faith Wagner (66) and Mariah Pagel (68) also competed for the Titans at the meet.
SCC is scheduled to compete at the 2018 Class 2A Region 1 First Round Meet at the Ida Grove Golf and Country Club Monday, May 14. Other teams competing at Ida Grove are Alta-Aurelia, Cherokee, Greene County, East Sac County, MVAO/COU, OA-BCIG and Southeast Valley. The Region 1 Final meet will be held Monday, May 21 at the Willow Vale Golf Course in Mapleton as MVAO/COU is the host school of the meet.
