It was a dominant performance by the South Central Calhoun varsity boys track team last night at the Raider Relays in Sac City as the Titans rolled up 199 points to cruise to the boys meet title. In all, the Titans crowned 10 champions and collected silver medals in five events as they easily outdistanced themselves from second place Gehlen Catholic of LeMars (116 points).
“This was a much better night to run than last Monday,” said SCC head coach Bryan Case. “Our team ran well and even set some new PR’s (personal records), school records and facility records along the way. The technical side of running is getting better and our field events have been steady. I like our progression up to this point.”
Among the winning events for the Titans included Kody Case, who was a gold medalist in four events including the 100, 200, long jump and the 4x100 relay. Spencer Moon doubled up in the distance events by winning the 1,600 and the 3,200 meter runs and the shuttle hurdle relay team along with Colton Bahr in the high jump and Tyler Jones in the shot put were winners and Tanner Macke won the 400.
