SCC softball team picks up second win of season

South Central Calhoun’s varsity softball team picked up its second win of the season with a 9-3 victory over Ar-We-Va in Vail Tuesday, June 27.
The Titans (2-15) scored four runs in the first inning, twice more in both the third and fourth innings and plated one more run in the sixth. Ar-We-Va scored twice in the fifth inning and plated one run in the bottom of the seventh.
Sydnie Schultz, who picked up the win on the mound, led the Titans with a 4-for-4 evening at the plate with two runs-batted-in. Maddie Jones was 2-for-5 with a run scored and both Sam Fister and Kinsey Batz finished 2-for-3 at the plate. Jones scored once while Fister had a run scored and an RBI and Bats had a run scored and two RBI for the Titans.
