SCC Middle School runners compete twice last week

The 2018 South Central Calhoun middle school cross country teams raced twice last week competing at both the 2018 Chris Smith Invitational in Sioux Rapids Thursday, Sept. 13, while also competing in the Kuemper Catholic Invitational Meet at Swan Lake State Park south of Carroll Saturday, Sept. 15.
At Sioux Rapids, Justin Hanks won the boys race in 12 minutes, 13.40 seconds while teammate Joe Clark was fifth in 12:48.05.
Mady Smidt was the top finisher for the SCC middle school girls at the Sioux Rapids Golf and Country Club as she finished 17th in 15:13.82.
At the Kuemper Catholic Invitational, Hanks won the boys middle school race in a time of 12:23 while Close Judisch was second overall in the girls race in 13:45.
