SCC boys golfers open season at 1-1

South Central Calhoun’s varsity boys golf team hosted a pair of meets last week at Lake City Country Club in Lake City and went 1-1 in those meets to start the 2017 season
The first meet of the season was against Pocahontas Area/Laurens-Marathon Thursday, April 6 in Lake City where the Titans beat the Indians 189 to 190. The following afternoon the Titans hosted St. Edmond for a boys dual in Lake City Friday, April 7, and fell to the Gaels 180 to 185.
Against PAC/L-M, meet medalist honors went to SCC’s Tyler O’Tool with a 45 while runner-up medalist was teammate Jonas Otto with a 47. Matt Toms of SCC was third with a 48 while teammate Kyler Steinborn was fourth with a 49. Also playing varsity against PAC/L-M were Jacob Nicholson (53) and Micah Lantz (54).
