Roma Lovett

Roma Lovett, age 98, of Ida Grove, Iowa, passed away on Monday, Oct. 26, 2020, at the Horn Memorial Hospital of Ida Grove, Iowa.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 2, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Ida Grove, Iowa. Rev. Richard A. Salcido and Rev. Neil Wehmas will officiate. Committal Services will follow in the Storm Lake Cemetery of Storm Lake, Iowa. A visitation will be held one-hour prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., on Monday, November 2, 2020, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Ida Grove, Iowa.

Roma Elaine Lovett was born June 1, 1922, to Chauncie and Edith Clark of Lake City, Iowa. She attended Lake City High School and graduated with the class of 1939. After high school she attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa, where she obtained her teaching certificate. She later taught in the Lake City area.

On December 20, 1944, Roma was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Lovett. The couple was blessed with a son, Terry. Roma and Bob owned and operated the Culligan water business in Ida Grove, Iowa, for over 50 years. Roma was the bookkeeper and enjoyed every minute at work. Their son was also associated the family business.

Roma enjoyed many years with her loving husband, Bob. Whether it was going out to eat on a Friday night or playing Bridge and Go Fish with the grandchildren, Roma treasured time spent with her family and friends. She also enjoyed dancing with her grandchildren when they would have sleepovers. She was a faithful and devoted member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Left to cherish her memory include her son Terry (fiancée Gayleen Schug) Lovett of Ida Grove, IA; granddaughters Kelli (special friend Randy Glau) Lovett of Vermillion, SD and Mindi (special friend Joe Nees) Mandernach of Odebolt, IA; great-grandchildren Austin Reich of Vermillion, SD, Alexis (fiancé Devin Anderson) Reich of Sioux Falls, SD, Karlie (fiancé Kent Krager) Mandernach of Ida Grove, IA, Clayton Mandernach and Kacie Mandernach both of Odebolt, IA; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Chancie and Edith Clark; her husband Robert “Bob” Lovett; daughter-in-law Marilyn Lovett; sisters Marvel (Leon) Ohrlund and Bernice (Henry) Brisbois; and grandson-in-law Scott Mandernach.
