No. 7 Titans clinch Twin Lakes Conference title, cruise past Southeast Valley, Manson- Northwest Webster and West Bend-Mallard

Once the South Central Calhoun boys’ basketball team got into the driver’s seat of the Twin Lakes Conference, the No. 7-ranked (Class 2A) Titans never relinquished their spot. Even if the winter weather shuffled things up a bit.
In fact, the Titans clinched the Twin Lakes Conference title in dominating fashion, soundly defeating Southeast Valley 67-34 on Thursday night in Gowrie before easing past Manson- Northwest Webster 74-39 on Friday night at the SCC Middle School Gym in Rockwell City. Then, SCC finished the weekend by dismantling West Bend-Mallard 77-44 on Saturday night in Rockwell City.
Or ig i na l ly, t he We s t Bend-Mallard contest was scheduled for Jan. 28 and Southeast Valley was set for Jan. 29. These games were postponed, due to the subzero temperatures that swept through Iowa last week.
Due to winning three games in three days, South Central Calhoun rolled to a 18-1 overall record, with an unbeaten 11-0 record in the TLC.
Also, the Titans clinched the No. 1 seed in the Class 2A-District 12 bracket.
