For the second year in a row, South Central Calhoun’s Spencer Moon represented his schools colors very well by placing fourth overall at the Class 2A Iowa High School Athletic Association’s 2017 Boys State Cross Country Meet in Fort Dodge.

Moon, in his junior season for the Titans varsity boys cross country team, finished in 16 minutes, 32.7 seconds to capture a fourth place medal at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course north of Fort Dodge Saturday, Oct. 28 during the 2017 IHSAA State Cross Country Championships Meet.

“This is the second consecutive year her finished fourth,” said SCC head coach Brian Knapp. “He ran almost the same time as a year ago as well. Considering he ran most of the race a year ago with a group of guys to push hi, and Saturday he was by himself most of the time, he ran exceptionally well.”
