Brotherhood is spoken of quite frequently in the realm of sports.
Teammates often refer to one another as brothers, battling through shared experiences and adversity wherever their sport of choice places them. Those who go through these programs often share the bond of brotherhood, through representation of their town, area or institution.
It can span from sharing the same locker room to having the name emblazoned on the uniform’s chest. It can last for a season or transcend generations.
Then, there is a deeper brotherhood, one linked by family ties. A bond that is picked up at birth and fostered through the years, as boys grow and become young men.
From identical twins to being separated by dates or years of birth, brothers always care for one another.
South Central Calhoun freshman wrestler Blake McAlister and senior teammate Chase McAlister share both of these bonds.
