A conversation between two friends about opening their own clothing store became reality in January when they opened the doors of Mainline Boutique in Rockwell City.
Mandy Becker and Holly Frerk, both of Manson, picked the location on the corner of Fourth and Main streets because of its availability – Becker’s parents own Lynch’s Mainstreet Bar and Grill, and offered the women space in the dining room for the store.
“From my perspective, we have to drive somewhere 30 minutes to shop,” Frerk said. At the same time, “there’s a group of young people coming (back) into small towns.”
Becker said she wanted to provide more convenience for small town residents.
“We just wanted a place where somebody could come in and get a birthday present,” she said. “We would love to have more places to conveniently shop.”
