Lohrville couple turns hobby into winery

Jim and Sue Hirschberg have been making their own wine for about a dozen years.
Three years ago, they decided they wanted to open their own winery. Fast forward to this year – and jump through a string of federal alcohol licensing hoops – and you’ve got Sweet Honeymoon Winery, which officially opened its doors at the Hirschberg’s Highway 175 home in March.
“We only make 15-gallon batches,” Jim said. “We very much are a small, craft, limited supply winery.”
Each bottle they sell has the batch number on the label. They offer wine tastings at their shop, which previously housed Jim’s gun shop.
