They say that when the going gets tough, the tough get going. An officer representing the Lake City Police Department got tough and got going in helping their fellow citizens, even in the most adverse of winter conditions.
When a blizzard rolled through Lake City and the surrounding areas on Feb. 23, Officer Dylan Forkner of the LCPD went above and beyond to help a Lake City family bring new life into the world. The act done by the Paton native embodied the best of those clad in blue.
According to LCPD Chief Bobby Rist, it was not only a display of professionalism, but also an act of unparalleled compassion.
“Dylan’s done a great job of putting everything into his own hands,” Rist said, complimenting Forkner’s stellar work. “He did an exceptional job, and did everything I would expect my officers to do in that situation.”
