Larry Gene Vaux, age 82, passed away on February 11, 2019 at his home in McAllen, TX. He was born July 23, 1936 in Adaza, IA to Marvin (Ted) and Bertha (Bert) Vaux. He grew up in and around the Lohrville, IA area where he attended school. Larry joined the Army in 1956 and received his honorable discharge in 1958. He worked several jobs before becoming an over the road truck driver. After his retirement, he moved to his current home in McAllen, TX. He enjoyed frequent cruises with a group of “Truckers Gone Wild” with many of his close friends. He enjoyed telling stories from his past and was always ready with a joke. When not cruising, he would drive for Meals on Wheels until his back pain prohibited it. He continued to pray that God would relieve him of his pain. On February 11th, God granted his wish. He was preceded in death by both his parents, Marvin (Ted) and Bertha (Bert) Vaux. His brothers, Marvin (Sonny) Vaux and Keith Vaux also passed away before he did. He had two nieces, Ava Jo Dalton and Kathy Nichols along with five nephews, John Vaux, Michael Vaux, Brian Vaux, Steven Vaux and Christopher Vaux. Memorial services and interment will be at a later date.
