Lake City Council still considering water tower options

Lake City officials want to move ahead with a project to repaint the city’s water tower, but just what the new design will look like remains to be decided.
The city council, at its Oct. 1 meeting, looked through several potential design options that included line drawings of the gazebo from the city square, as well as the fountain. Other designs were simpler, with just Lake City and the city’s slogan, “Everything but a lake.”
City Administrator Eric Wood said the city received some negative comments on its Facebook page for an earlier proposed design, though not all of the comments were directly related to the design. Some people questioned why the city was spending money to paint the tower but not fixing potholes. Wood noted that the funds for those two types of projects come from different parts of the city’s budget.
