Solid waste removal and the two bids presented was the main topic of discussion in the City Council of Lake City’s latest regular meeting, which took place on June 17 at the Council Chambers inside of City Hall in Lake City.
Other highlights of the one hour, 45 minute meeting included the possibility of a Disc Golf Course and the placing of a memorial bench at Goins Park, and the approval of a receipt management module to accept debit and credit cards at the City Office.
Following the call to order, approving the agenda, previous meeting minutes, claims, treasurer’s report and permits, the council opened up the floor for members of the public.
Aimee Cardwell was the first to address the council, asking about the possibility of a Disc Golf Course at Goins Park. Cardwell said that it is up and coming thing, as new courses have popped up in Gowrie, Breda and Manning.
Cardwell also mentioned that Goins Park has plenty of space. The council agreed with the concept and asked Cardwell to return with more information.
