Area residents fare well at State Fair competitions
The Iowa State Fair is often seen as more than just a fair. From a destination for high profile concertgoers and stellar 4-H exhibits to a showcase of the best food and off the wall competitions, the State Fair has something for everyone.
Since its start, Calhoun County has had more than its fair share of representation at the Iowa State Fair, held from August 8 to August 18 at the Iowa State Fair Grounds in Des Moines.
So far, 10 residents who call this part of the Hawkeye State – which stretches from Manson to the outer edges of Auburn and from Farnhamville and from the outskirts of Lytton – home had taken home good showings and awards.
