Hoefling challenges incumbent for GOP nod in District 10 primary

A long-time Lohrville resident, who has made a career of national political involvement, has turned his sights closer to home.
Tom Hoefling is challenging incumbent State Rep. Mike Sexton for the Republican nomination to run for the House District 10 seat this fall. He said he, like many other Republicans he meets, is frustrated with a party that sends its representatives to local and federal legislatures, only to see those Republicans fail to follow through with promises to achieve conservative ideals.
“It’s particularly acute nationally,” Hoefling said. “That last omnibus bill funded Planned Parenthood and the Affordable Care Act.”
That’s despite the voices of Republican voters who don’t support either of those, Hoefling said.
“We’re just kind of tired of it,” he said. “I think I represent the conservative rank and file of Republicans.”
