Grassley offers his pointers for GOP nominee Trump

Iowa’s senior senator hasn’t spent a lot of time with Donald Trump.
But Sen. Charles Grassley, a Republican who has served in the U.S. Senate since 1981, told a friendly crowd at Macke Motors in Lake City Monday he has some advice for the GOP presidential nominee: Stay on message.
That’s key to convincing “reluctant Republicans” – a phrase used by a Macke employee when asking Grassley how to convince Republicans not to abandon the party in the November election.
“I think it’s directly related to our candidate for president staying on message,” Grassley said. “I think that’s the big factor. I think they lose opportunities by him getting off on a tangent.”
Most importantly, Grassley said, is for Trump to keep focusing on three things – the unfitness of Hillary Clinton to be president, economic security and national security.
