Four Titan volleyball players receive All-TLC honors

In an announcement from the TLC on Oct. 28, the 12-team league released its All-Conference members. Among those from SCC who were named to the four teams were senior Emma Geno, senior Kortney Riley, sophomore Riley Batta and senior Laci Riedesel.

Geno was named to the TLC’s second team, and Riley was placed on third team. Batta and Riedesel received spots on the Honorable Mention team.

Geno racked up 384 digs, 20 service aces, 12 kills and 10 assists. Following her two-year stint with the Titans, Emma came out with 633 digs, 46 aces, 21 assists and 18 kills.

Over the course of the season, Riley totaled 232 digs, 187 kills, 73 assists, 62 aces and 10 blocks. In her three-year tenure in the varsity uniform, Kortney hauled in 559 digs, 263 kills, 109 aces, 92 assists and 30 blocks.

Batta finished 2020 with 205 assists, 172 digs, 111 kills, 33 aces and 19 blocks. In two seasons’ time, Riley has already accumulated 685 assists, 415 kills, 395 digs, 70 aces and 57 blocks.

Riedesel acquired 113 kills, 70 digs, 39 blocks, 31 aces and nine assists. The longest tenured of the Titans by suiting up for four seasons, Laci had tallied 328 kills, 252 digs, 151 blocks, 112 aces and 28 assists.

The Titans finished 16-23 overall with a 6-5 record in conference play, in SCC head volleyball coach Shelley Blankenship’s second year at the helm.
