Farrington blazes his own trail while seeking Eagle Scout

Earning the rank of Eagle Scout is a family affair for Lucas Farrington.
The 18-year-old South Central Calhoun High School senior followed in his older brothers’ footsteps when first joining the Boy Scouts as a Tiger Scout more than a decade ago. And when those brothers, Wesley, now 24, and Brady, now 21, attained the top ranking in the national organization, Farrington knew it was only inevitable that he would, too.
“I had a big influence from my brothers,” Farrington said March 16, two days after his Eagle Scout Court of Honor, which was held in Rockwell City. “They got their Eagles, so I felt like I had to, just to catch up.”
