ATVs OK on county roads

The Calhoun County Board of Supervisors approved all three required readings of an ordinance allowing all-terrain and off-road vehicle use on county roads at its Aug. 25 meeting.
Recorder Kathy Jurries said she has been receiving lots of phone calls from county residents trying to track down information about the law change. In particular, she said, people want to know if they can ride ATVs within city limits. Unless city councils authorize that, ATV users cannot ride on city roads, Jurries said.
“I think it looks good,” she said of the ordinance.
