LETTER TO THE EDITOR: The preservation of the Lake City Community Memorial Building is imperative

Growing up in Lake City, there were lots of opportunities to use the Lake City Community Memorial Building. Built as a memorial to veterans for use by the public, a wide variety of events have been held there over the years.

As a child, I attended dancing lessons there, where a long rubber tumbling mat was placed in the upstairs hallway.  Recitals were later held on the stage, with public seating in the main room and in the balcony upstairs.  The upstairs lounge was used as a dressing room for costume changes.
