Calhoun County Expo announces virtual photo contest
Summertime is a special time in Iowa. To forever capture those moments, pictures are taken. In the digital age, pictures and video have been more profound than ever.
To celebrate our love for cameras and those perfect moments, the Calhoun County Expo and The Graphic-Advocate have partnered up for a new endeavor in a virtual photo contest. The theme for the inaugural virtual event is Calhoun County.
The free contest, which is part of the 2020 Open Class of the Calhoun County Expo, runs from now to July 6.
The rules of the contest are easy to follow, as each contestant may submit one photo only in a .jpg format to calhouniaopenclass@gmail.com. Any additional photos submitted beyond the first will not be included.
Any photo taken within Calhoun County is eligible. However, no professional photographers are allowed to partake in the contest.
Submissions must include the contestant name, physical mailing address, phone number, description, location taken and a confirmation of the entry’s email address. The entrant must have taken the original photo.
Any photos that contain sexually explicit, obscene, violent or other inappropriate content determined by the organizer will be ruled ineligible.
An album will be created on the Calhoun County Expo’s Facebook page, where names will be attached to the photos. There will also be a “People’s Choice Award,” which will be done by way of a picture garnering the most likes in the album.
The winners will be announced on July 11 on the Expo's Facebook page, and prizes are to be determined. The photos will also be printed and displayed at a location to be determined.
