SMCH encourages face mask crafting

Even though Calhoun County has avoided positive cases of COVID-19 so far, Stewart Memorial Community Hospital knows that personal protective equipment supplies may run thin in the immediate future.

The Lake City-based hospital is welcoming anyone willing to craft facemasks for its personnel, in a March 31 news release.

SMCH is still assessing needs on a daily basis, and is receiving masks from its suppliers. However, shortages may be possible, due to the outbreak.

To be involved, please contact Linda Luhring at (712) 297-0835 or at jim.luhring@gmail.com. For a guide on how to construct facemasks, you can visit https://www.unitypoint.org/cedarrapids/sewing-surgical-masks.aspx.
