Titans welcoming Chargers in bid for Quarterfinals

South Central Calhoun’s playoff hopes are alive and well as the Titans play host to the ACGC Chargers tonight.

Recapping: The Second Round of Class 1A high school football action has 16 teams contending for the right to advance with your hometown Titans fresh off a 34-13 win over Emmetsburg in the First Round last Friday.

That set up the 8-1 Titans to host tonight as the team faces the visiting Chargers, also at 8-1 for the season in what should be an exciting contest.

With a District title under their belt, the Titans will benefit from Senior Blake McAlister’s efforts.

Rushing for a massive 702 yards, McAlister has 10 touchdowns and has 15 receptions under his belt and is a great asset on tackles as well.

Up Against: For their part, the Chargers are fresh off a 40-22 win against South Hardin.

Action gets underway at South Central Calhoun High School at 7 p.m. to start. A win would be a big deal for the Titans with the victor earning a shot at the Quarterfinals.

Tonight’s winner will go up against the winner of Woodward-Granger versus Van Meter.

Our Expections: Hosting that action tonight, the 9-0 Van Meter Bulldogs are the clear favorite against W-G’s 6-3 Hawks, making a contest with the Bulldogs the likely outcome for tonight’s Titan game with the Chargers as football action races to its climax in the Dome.
