Before heading back to Stillwater, Okla., in January, returning Peace Corps member Brandi Murley will provide insight on three years in Uganda.

As a part of Peace Corps’ third goal, which is  "To help promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans," Murley will be giving a presentation on her experiences in Uganda from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 30 at the Rockwell City Public Library.

"We hope that by this having this presentation in the evening, it will allow most people to come in after work,” said Murley, who was featured in the Nov. 20 edition of The Graphic-Advocate.

At the end of the presentation, Brandi will be presenting the Rockwell City Public Library a selection of books on the history and politics that has impacted Uganda over the past 50 years.

Brandi will also share some studies and articles she has worked on while in Uganda, in addition to a selection of books from other East African countries.

"Most of these books are written by Ugandan authors and I have personally read them all,” Murley said. “They have all made an impact on my understanding of Uganda and towns I was living in. I wanted to share books for those who are interested in learning more about Uganda and what the culture is like. This is my way of giving back to Rockwell City and others who have supported me.”

The books will be available for checkout from the library.
