Monita Kelly
Monita Kelly, 59, died at her home unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, at the Lanesboro United Methodist Church in Lanesboro with burial in the Lanesboro Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from noon until service time on Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Lanesboro. Lampe & Powers Funeral Home in Lake City is assisting the family.
Monita is survived by her husband Steve of Lake City; daughters Pam (Trevor) Reece and their children Jordan, Jadon and Jathon of Lake City, Nicole (Brady) Joynt and their children Brooklyn and Hailey of Webb; mother Jan Snyder of Lanesboro; sisters Rhonda (Philip) Sommerfeld of Lanesboro and Sondra (Kent) Hovey of Adel; brother Duane “Dewey” (Jennifer) Snyder of Lohrville; father-in-law Daryl Kelly of Lohrville; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her father Roger Snyder; mother-in-law Marion Kelly; grandparents Lester and Dorothy Mohr and Clark and Pearl Snyder; and grandparents-in-law Fannie and Ed Kelly; and Kenny and Thelma Husinga.
Monita was born on October 22, 1961 in Lake City, Iowa to Roger and Janet (Mohr) Snyder. She graduated from Lake City High School in 1980. On April 25, 1981, Monita married Steve Kelly at the United Methodist Church in Lanesboro. She worked for many years at United Bank of Iowa in Lake City and Ida Grove then recently started working remotely from home as a real estate underwriter for Essent. She was a member of the Lanesboro United Methodist Church and was very active in many church activities. Monita enjoyed golfing, fishing, spending time at the lake and she especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
