Jan Mohr

Jan Mohr, 70, died on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City. A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 31, at Lampe & Powers Funeral Home in Lake City.

Private family services and burial will be held later. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left for the Iowa Heart Association.

Janice Colleen Bettis was born on December 20, 1950, in Boone, Iowa, to Gerald and Delores (Allen) Bettis. She graduated from United Community High School in Boone. On December 24, 2012, Jan married David Mohr in Lake City. She worked as resident advisor, cook and Supervisor at Opportunity Living from 1993 to 2012.

Jan is survived by her husband David of Lake City; children Marcia Simons of Lake City, Dodi (Scott) Nepple of Lake City, Davey (Amanda) Mohr of Nevada, Matt (Cindy) Mohr of Scranton, Crystal (Mike) Rice of Scranton, Amber (Jeremiah) Hoyt of Anamosa, and Randal Rogers of Lake City; 26 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters Karen Humphreys, Sharon (George) Marlin, Linda Musser and Bonnie (Bill) Corson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; son George Mentzer II, and son-in-law John Simons.
