Deb Kirby
Deborah Kristin (Lien) Kirby passed away on Jan. 26, 2022.
There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. on April 9 at the Lake City Cemetery, followed by a reception at Woodlawn Christian Church in Lake City.
Deb was born on May 2, 1950 to Arthur and Velma Lien of Webster City. She joined her brother Michael Lien at home. Deb attended Webster City Schools and graduated in the class of 1968.
She also attended Iowa Central Community College earning a clerical Associate’s Degree. She married Dean Albrecht in 1972. The couple had two children Shane (Katie) Albrecht and Kimberly (Jacob) Kent. The couple later divorced and in 1984, she married Dean Kirby of Lohrville.
Deb worked at a few different places throughout her life, including the Hamilton County Treasurer’s Office, Bearing Supply, Snyder Implement and Charles Loeck, DDS. She enjoyed talking with people and providing a great customer experience.
She loved her family and friends. She enjoyed the holidays with her family and cooking big meals. She loved to quilt and do wool applique. She traveled to many quilt shows and retreats to spend time with her quilting friends.
She moved to Castle Rock, Colorado, six years ago to be closer to family, and lived with her daughter and family until her death from ALS.
Deb is survived by her two children, Shane and Kimberly. She leaves behind seven grandchildren Alexis, Braeden, and Alisen Albrecht, Natalie and Preston Kent, Amanda (Ben) Kennedy and Justin Kirby, and one great grandson Harvey Kennedy.
Deb’s parents, her brother, her husband and granddaughter, Amanda Albrecht, preceded her in death.
