Barb Toyne, 91, passed away peacefully at her home in rural Ralston Friday evening, March 10, following a long illness.

Barbara Ann Toyne was born Oct. 26, 1931, to parents Frank and Ruth Brownell of Lake City. Following graduation from Lake City High School, she obtained her nursing degree from the University of Minnesota., In an at-home ceremony, she married Daryl D. Toyne Oct. 31, 1953. With these significant autumn dates, it isn’t a surprise that Halloween was her favorite holiday, and orange was her favorite color.
