Annetta Daisy

Annetta Daisy, 101, died on Monday, Nov. 8, 2021 at Shady Oaks Care Center in Lake City. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 12, 2021 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Carroll with burial in the Lake City Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Lampe & Powers Funeral Home in Lake City is assisting the family.

Annetta Armilda Gorden was born on Jan. 25, 1920 in Dow City, Iowa to Ellet and Stella (Datterl) Gorden. On Jan. 11, 1940, Annetta married Harold Daisy in Denison. She worked for many years as a cook at the Lake City Café and she enjoyed canning, gardening, fishing, embroidering, playing BINGO and making quilts for everyone she could.

Annetta was preceded in death by her parents Ellet and Stella Gorden; husband Harold Daisy; son George Daisy; daughter Janet Heuton; granddaughter-in-law Leigh Heuton; great-grandsons Justin Heuton, Taylor Heuton and A.J. Heuton; brothers Edward, Bill, Charles and Frank Gorden; sisters-in-law Leona Gorden, Seana Gorden, Theda Gorden, and Margie Gorden.

Surviving are eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister Betty Segebart of Lake City; and brother Jesse (Jeannie) Gorden of Lake City.
