South Central Calhoun offensively had a big third quarter scoring four touchdowns to help them roll to a 49-6 victory over Southeast Valley in Lake City Friday, Sept. 14 for Homecoming 2018 in varsity football play. The Titans moved to 4-0 in Class 1A, District 2 and will begin district play at Ogden Friday, Sept. 21.
“I thought our kids came out a little flat tonight and had to fight through some adversity in the first half,” said SCC head coach Bryan Case. “However, I’m proud of our team and the way they responded in the third quarter, breaking through for 28 points and really keeping Southeast Valley off-balance. Overall, it was a great team win and a happy Homecoming.”
The Titans would lead the Jaguars 14-6 at the half as SCC scored the lone touchdown of the first period on a Chase McAlister 63-yard run with 5:51 remaining in the first, while Southeast Valley would strike for its lone score of the contest on a 36-yard run by Kyler Fisher with 7:03 remaining in the first half to make it a 7-6 Titan lead. SCC woul score a late touchdown in the first half to go up 14-6 as Jordan Khommanyvong ran the reverse for a 25-yard score.
