Titans fourth at Crusader Invitational

Action resumed in 2018 for the South Central Calhoun varsity wrestling team at the 2018 Crusader Invitational hosted by Coon Rapids-Bayard in Coon Rapids Saturday, Jan. 6, and the Titans crowned one champion overall while placing fourth with 125 team points. Panorama took home the team title with 242.5 points while West Central Valley was second with 168 and Riverside of Oakland was third with 134.5.
Chase McAlister went 3-0 on the day at 145 pounds to win the championship at his weight class. With his 10-7 win over Tye Joint of West Central Valley in the championship match, McAlister improved to 28-2 overall.
Teammates Ayden Toms and Jordan Khommanyvong both placed second for SCC at Coon Rapids. Toms was 2-1 at 113 as he improved to 18-11 overall and Khommanyvong at 132 was 2-1 at the tournament to improve to 24-3 overall.
Third place medals for SCC were earned by Brody Goodman at 160 finished 4-1 to improve to 28-3 overall and Brian King earned a bronze medal at 220 pounds as he was 3-1 on the day and improved to 20-10 on the season.
