Coming to various golf courses throughout the autumn, cross country will be running on paths set aside for a great amount of foot traffic.
When the South Central Calhoun boys’ and girls’ cross country teams take to the fading green courses in late August, they will have a completely different look to them.
The biggest loss to the Titans is the graduation of Spencer Moon, who finished eighth at last year’s Iowa High School Cross Country Championships. Moon will gear up for his freshman season for Simpson College in Indianola.
This season, incoming senior Bryce Smidt will lead SCC on the boys’ side while incoming sophomore Jade Ridgely will spearhead the girls’ efforts. Overall, the Titans will see experience a good hint of youth in their ranks this season.
