South Central Calhoun’s varsity football team posted its first shut out of the 2018 season and improved to 3-0 overall with a 38-0 victory over IKM-Manning in Manning Friday, Sept. 7.
The Titans scored its first touchdown on defense, scored three times on the ground and scored twice more through the air as SCC accumulated 411 yards of total offense while holding the Wolves to 177 for the game.
“I thought our kids did a fine job tonight,” said SCC head coach Bryan Case. “We struggled at times to move the ball and finish drives, but some of that is due to IKM-Manning and their physical play. They have a very good football team that will cause a lot of problems for people moving forward. We took another step in the right direction, but we must continue to work on our weaknesses and build on our strengths. We have a huge game next week against another quality opponent in Southeast Valley. We’ll definitely have our hands full with these guys.”
