Titan runners compete at a pair of meets

South Central Calhoun’s cross country teams had a pair of meets to run in this past week. The Titans opened the week at the Denison-Schleswig Invitational in Denison Tuesday, Sept. 29, while SCC also ran at the Pocahontas Area Invitational Saturday, Oct. 3.
At Denison, the Titan varsity boys placed 10th as a team with 244 points as the squad was led by freshman Spencer Moon, who placed second overall in 17 minutes, 22.68 seconds.
Jacob Stephenson was the second Titan boy to cross the finish in 47th position with a time of 19:22.18. Teammate Nic Englin was 56th in 19:44.28 while Chase Pibal crossed the finish in 19:57.87 for 63rd place. Also running for the Titan varsity boys team were Kyle Poen (77th, 20:31.72), Mason Henry (84th, 21:07.09) and Sam Corey (90th, 21:26.78).
