South Central Calhoun’s cross country teams were back in action Thursday, Sept. 14 at the 2017 Sioux Central Invitational at the Sioux Rapids Golf Course north of Sioux Rapids.
The Titans were led by Spencer Moon in the varsity boys race as he won the race in 15 minutes, 41 seconds, which established his own personal best as well as the SCC school record and SCC was fourth in the team standings with 146 points. In the varsity girls competition, SCC was led by Lily Christian, who was 14th individually in 21:33 as the Titans were fifth overall with 88 points.
“Overall, a pretty good night on a tough, hilly course,” said SCC head coach Brian Knapp. “We had some kids at different levels challenge for top spots individually. Spencer Moon ran his personal best and also set the SCC 5K record. Many other runners also ran their personal 5K bests.”
