Titan boys advance to district golf

South Central Calhoun varsity boys golf team moved one step closer to a potential 2015 Class 2A state golf berth by placing third at the Class 2A sectional boys golf outing held at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course north of Fort Dodge Friday, May 15.
The Titans had an 18-hole total of 327 strokes to edge out Clarion-Goldfield by one stroke for third place. The top three teams advanced as St. Edmond of Fort Dodge, the host school, won the sectional title with a score of 315. Pocahontas Area/L-M also advanced with a 322.
SCC next plays at Emerald Hills Golf Club located in Arnolds Park Friday, May 22 at 10 a.m. Other teams competing at the district meet include Sioux Center, Estherville-Lincoln Central, Western Christian, PAC/L-M, St. Edmond, Unity Christian, OA/BCIG and West Lyon.
