Sweet Corn Daze is expanding to add events all week long leading up to the Aug. 4 celebration in Rockwell City.
The week will begin with the opening of a scavenger hunt, which starts July 28, the Monday before the Saturday main event, organizer Theresa Hildreth said. Participants will card at City Hall, Parkside Flowers or the Rockwell City Library, then scout those locations, as well as Champion Chrysler, Draperies Plus, Mainline Boutique, Total Body Works and Trash and Treasures for specially labeled cans of corn. When they spot the can of corn, they get their scavenger hunt card initialed at that business, then turn in their filled cards for a chance for prizes, Hildreth said.
“It’s just something to get people up and moving,” she said.
One additional location to get initialed is the Sweet Corn Daze Stroll at 7 p.m. Aug. 1, which starts at the Rockwell City square.
