Stange named 2017 queen, Wuebker wins Little Miss crown

A 9-year 4-H member and Manson Northwest Webster High School graduate was crowned the 2017 Calhoun County Fair Queen Wednesday night in Rockwell City.
Liz Stange, of Rockwell City, was named the queen in a small field of just three contestants this year. Kelsi Carlson of Lake City, a 2017 South Central Calhoun High School graduate, was runner-up, while Courtney Melohn of Pomeroy, a Pocahontas Area High School graduate, was second runner-up.
Stange, in answering questions before the judges and the contest crowd, said she thought she was well qualified to be queen.
“I think I bring that spirit of equality and wholesomeness” to the expo, she said.
