Six Titan grapplers advance at Class 1A - Section 11 Wrestling Tournament

As the Iowa wrestling season transitions from the regular season to the road to the Iowa State Wrestling Tournament, many teams and wrestlers envision themselves taking to the mat at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

However, these squads and individuals must endure through two of the great proverbial filters – the Sectionals and the Districts.

The South Central Calhoun wrestling team saw six of its 13 grapplers pass through the first of the two filters, with two wrestlers winning sectional championships at the Class 1A Section 11 Wrestling Tournament, held this past Saturday at the Maple Valley-Anthon-Oto High School Gymnasium in Mapleton.
