School board tests math skills during program update

South Central Calhoun Middle School math teacher Jeff Boerner walked school board members through a typical math problem last week.
Boerner asked the board to calculate 63 plus 28, without writing the numbers down. One board member quickly tossed out 91, the correct answer.
“Most of  you probably did it in your head,” Boerner said. “Did you think about rounding and adjusting?”
