South Central Calhoun’s varsity football team picked up its most important win of the season to date at Jewell Friday, Oct. 17, as the Titans won a hard-fought battle over South Hamilton by a 14-8 final to lock up a 2014 playoff berth.

SCC’s opponent this Friday at Lake City is Ogden for senior night for the Titans. The Bulldogs are second in the district at 4-1 and are 7-1 overall. Ogden outlasted Manson Northwest Webster Oct. 17 by a 44-41 final.

“I'm extremely happy with the outcome tonight,” said SCC head coach Bryan Case of the Titans critical road victory at Jewell. “South Hamilton gave us all we could handle, and it was a battle to the end. South Hamilton ran twice as many plays as we did, and it was pretty evenly matched, but our kids just made the plays when it mattered the most. This win qualifies our team for the playoffs, but we're not satisfied with that."
