SCC Titans take Twin Lakes Conference Champion Title

For the third straight season, the South Central Calhoun varsity wrestling team can call itself the Twin Lakes Conference champions. The Titans rolled to a third-straight league title with an impressive team performance at Rockwell City Saturday, Jan. 18, as SCC amassed 244 team points, nearly 50 points better than second place Manson Northwest Webster and they crowned six champions and had eight wrestlers total advance to the championship round.

Among the highlights for the Titans at the meet included championship efforts for the following Titans: Colin Corey at 120 pounds, Logan Peed at 152, Tyler Kutz at 170, Rylan Richardson at 182, Zayne Barrett at 195 and Cody Schoop at 220.

Corey went 2-0 on the day and defeated Caleb Gunderson of Laurens-Marathon/Sioux Central by fall in the championship match in 5 minutes, 34 seconds.
