SCC softball team earns first win of year

South Central Calhoun’s varsity softball team earned its first victory of the season last week as the Titans rallied for a 4-3 win over Sioux Central in Lytton Friday, June 1 as the team is now 1-5 overall.
The Titans, who trailed 3-2 heading into the bottom of the seventh, plated two runs in the bottom of the seventh to earn the walk-off win.
Maddie Jones led the Titans with a 2-for-4 effort with two runs scored against Sioux Central while teammate Kaylynn Kruckenberg led in hits with a 3-for-4 effort. Kinsey Batz was 1-for-3 with a run scored and Sam Fister walked, stole a base and scored a run for the Titans offense. Sally Musselman, Kortney Riley and Ashley Hanks also had a hit each against the Rebels.
